We are a volunteer group helping to maintain and improve the Nature Park for all visitors.
Plan your visit to one of the most stunning nature parks in Wakefield. You’ll never know what new things you’ll discover at Walton Colliery Nature Park. We are a small group of volunteers and aim to inspire people of all ages to fully appreciate the diversity of wildlife in their local area. The Nature Park changes through the seasons so make sure to come visit as often as you can to truly enjoy all it has to offer.

There are a lot of things you can do on your visit to Walton Colliery Nature Park.
Walkers, cyclists and horse riders can enjoy a network of paths around WCNP. A designated horse trail is clearly marked along with coloured trails ranging from 1 km to 3.5 km for walkers and cyclists. The National Trans Pennine Trail runs through the park.
We ask that everyone respects the countryside code.
Always keep dogs under control around the birdlife and please clean up after your dog.

Come and join us at our monthly volunteer work session here at Walton Colliery Nature Park: Nature Conservation. There’s no better environment to experience this type of activity. Refreshments are always available too!!!
